|
On October 1st, 1935 a company was registered in Helsinki, which in 1944 was named Oy Anglo-Nordic Trading Company Ltd Ab and later the current Oy Anglo-Nordic Ab. The 30ies and 40ies were dramatic times, but in the middle of all these tragic events the base was set for Anglo-Nordic´s international trade.

On 18.11.1950 Anglo-Nordic took part in arranging the first TV-presentation in Finland at Stockmanns and during the same year assembled the first domestic oilburner - Radiant - and manufactured the first domestic ballpens - Reynolds Flyer -. The stationery-division has developed into an important division in the company and has since the end of the 50ies become one of the leading suppliers in this line. |

1968 |

Up until 1968 Anglo-Nordic was located at Mannerheimintie 18, but moved to Lauttasaari when the premises became too small and crowded. There the company could at last have the offices and warehouse under the same roof. An old dream came true when Anglo-Nordic bought their own house in Lauttasaari, Kiviaidankatu 3.

1988 |
|
|
The change of generations, which had been planned for some time, took place in 1988. Leo-Dan Bensky took over the position as managing director and Dave Bensky continued as chairman of the board. |

1990 |

The turnover continued to increase and the premises in Lauttasaari became too small. The construction of a new office- and warehouse building was started at the end of 1989 on a site opposite the old and idyllic Kauklahti station. The building was completed in the end of the summer 1990 and inaugurated on the 55th anniversary of Anglo-Nordic, 1.10.1990.
The marketing of mobile phones started in 1990 with the sales of phones manufactured by Technophone, a British company. In 1991 Nokia bought the company, but Anglo-Nordic continued to sell these phones until 1995 when Nokia concentrated their whole production under one brand name- Nokia. Since that time Anglo-Nordic has been Nokias only official wholesaler in Finland.

Anglo-Nordic is still a fully family owned company. The range of products spans from stationery and sports products to tools, business gifts and multimedia products.
The continuing growth in all divisions gives the management every reason to look to the future with confidence and optimism.
On September 1, 2006, managing director Leo-Dan Bensky was nominated as chairman of the board.
